Hello and welcome to my little slice of the web. You have probably guessed that, I am both a runner and a librarian (not quite at the moment, but looking to change that). At the moment, I am working as a Web Producer in the marketing department at the Indiana University Foundation.
I have been working with technology in a variety of different ways for as long as I can remember and thought that creating a blog would be a great way to share my experiences and knowledge with other people. The library has also been a very important part of my life and it will continue to be so in the future. My first memory actually working in a library started when, I was in junior high school. In eighth grade, I was a student assistant for a semester doing a variety of basic things such as checking out books and re-shelving books.
Throughout my childhood and college education, I always found myself going back to the library in a variety of different ways from working in them to checking out a book to read. After leaving graduate school at Michigan State University, I found myself working part-time for the Senate Majority Communications office in Lansing before taking a full-time position with North Farmington High School. I worked as the Media Computer Technician at the high school doing a variety of things while working in the media center. One of my main responsibilities revolved around technology that included serving as a network administrator for a Novell network, teaching people on how to use computer software, and helping students locate information for class assignments.
One of my passions is learning new things and sharing what I have learned with other people. I am currently in search of a library position within an academic library or midsize public library. My dream position would be working at a medium to large research institution or public library near the mountains. If you are in search of a librarian who enjoys working with technology and you are close to the mountains please let me know.
